Antonio da Correggio's "Leda and the Swan" “depicts the mythical scene from Greek mythology in which Zeus, the king of the gods, transforms into a swan to seduce and impregnate Leda, the mortal queen of Sparta. Corregio depicts Leda holding on to a root behind her, drawing in the swan and her head and body moving to better meet the divine swan.
